KatzAbosch’s Response to COVID-19

Dear Valued Clients & Contacts,

We are writing to you because our top priority is the health and safety of our clients and employees. As you are aware, there are confirmed cases of COVID-19 (coronavirus) in Maryland and throughout the United States. We want you to know and assure you of the precautions and safety measures KatzAbosch has in place during this time of uncertainty. Importantly, at present there are no cases of the virus reported among employees of KatzAbosch.

KatzAbosch is ready to continue serving you during any disruption which might occur, while also remaining responsible in light of public health recommendations from the federal government, guidance from the local jurisdictions and the World Health Organization. Our office doors at all locations are open and we can receive you and your documents in person if you so choose.

We encourage you to consider personal concerns as you choose how to interact with KatzAbosch during tax season. As a reminder, as a KatzAbosch client, you have options to interact with us that can assist with minimizing personal contact. These options include transmitting your data electronically or via the mail. In lieu of face to face meetings, you may also choose to communicate with us via virtual meeting technology. Please contact your KatzAbosch representative if you are not currently enrolled in any of our electronic file sharing systems and wish to do so. They will work with you to select the best electronic option that is right for you. If you do not recall your KatzAbosch representative, please dial our main number: 410.828.2727 and we would be happy to connect you.

As reported in recent days in the media, the Administration is considering various proposals such as a payroll tax cut or an extension of tax filing and payment deadlines out of consideration for the impact of COVID-19 on the economy and perceived risks associated with congregation in public spaces. We are staying current with these developments including the passage of any new legislation that would impact you. As soon as such events occur, we will communicate them to you.

Additionally, we want to make you aware that KatzAbosch has the following precautions in place:

– Timely Procedure Updates: First of all, with the information about this virus changing rapidly we are taking every opportunity to stay informed and provide accurate and timely information to our staff about its development and our firm procedures guiding them on how to maintain a safe work environment.

– Workplace Safety Terms: Employees who present themselves at work with symptoms will be asked to seek medical evaluation. They will also be advised to stay home. The firm has communicated with the entire firm that the most important thing they can do is to wash their hands, communicate if they are not feeling well, and to be mindful of what they are doing.

– Business Continuity Assurance: KatzAbosch operates on an advanced technology platform which allows us to serve clients whether our team members are at one of our offices, at a client location or at home. As a result, we expect any disruption that occurs to be minimal should events require us to close the office for a period of time. While our goal is to maintain the highest level of service during this health crises, we must remain flexible with our team members who are working to balance family needs due to the spread of the coronavirus.

Thank you, as always, for putting your trust in KatzAbosch. Our team encourages you and your family take all necessary precautions to stay safe during this unique time. We are always here should you have questions.
