KatzAbosch Recognizes Emily Updegraff as a 2025 MACPA Woman to Watch Honoree

KatzAbosch is proud to announce that Emily Updegraff, CPA, CFCM, Shareholder and leader of the firm’s Audit and Assurance Department, has been nominated for the Maryland Association of CPAs (MACPA) Women to Watch: Experienced Leaders Award. This prestigious recognition honors women who have made significant contributions to the accounting profession through leadership, mentorship, and service. 

With over 15 years of experience in audit and assurance services, Emily has built a distinguished career focused on the not-for-profit and government contracting sectors. Her leadership at KatzAbosch has been marked by transformative initiatives, including the implementation of standardized processes, continuous education programs, and cutting-edge software solutions that have elevated departmental performance and fostered a culture of learning and stability. 

In addition to her departmental leadership, she serves on the firm’s Board of Directors, contributing to strategic planning, financial oversight, and policy development. Her influence extends beyond the workplace through her involvement with the Maryland Zoo’s Emerging Leaders program.

About the MACPA Women to Watch Awards 

The Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants’ (MACPA) Foundation hosts the annual Women to Watch award to celebrate women in the profession and demonstrate to emerging leaders that success is not out of reach. Awards are given in two categories:  

Emerging Leaders: Emerging Leaders are women who are up-and-coming stars in their organizations, who demonstrate leadership and contribute to the profession through service and implementation of impactful initiatives.  

Experienced Leaders: Those who have established their roles as leaders in their organizations by advancing to the highest levels of management or ownership, and by mentoring those following in their footsteps.  

The awards ceremony will take place on September 17, 2025, at the Sheraton BWI Airport Hotel. We encourage everyone to join us in celebrating Emily’s achievements and supporting her at this special event.
