Background & Experience

James Eaton is a Principal in KatzAbosch’s Tax Department and Co-Chair of the firm’s Personal Financial Planning Group, he joined the firm in 2013. James works alongside clients’ trusted advisors such as attorneys, investment advisors and insurance providers to help navigate the increasingly complex legal environment to achieve family, business and philanthropic goals. Clients’ objectives often include issues such as tax efficient inter-generational wealth transfer or structured philanthropic giving plans. James’ experience with complex business and real estate taxation make him uniquely well suited to working with the owners of the firm’s core closely held business clients. James has also been identified as the firm’s Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the Affordable Care Act and has represented the firm extensively in both media and public speaking engagements.
