KatzAbosch Hosts First Annual Construction & Real Estate Bootcamp May 26, 2015 KatzAbosch hosted its first annual Construction & Real Estate Bootcamp on May 12, 2015 at the Sheraton Hotel Baltimore North in Towson, Maryland. The firm is thrilled to report a very successful event in its first year, bringing in over 90 executives from the Mid-Atlantic’s construction and real estate sectors. The Maryland Construction Network partnered with KatzAbosch to deliver a holistic industry event with additional exposure to experts in the field. The morning kicked off with a General Contractor panel of Vice Presidents and Project Managers from Whiting-Turner, Harkins Builders, Merritt Construction Services and Bozzuto Construction. The panelists discussed the current status of major projects in the Baltimore market and how their businesses have come to achieve the status they hold today. Other topics of discussion included new opportunities, tenant demands in commercial space, technology developments and green space, to name a few. KatzAbosch’s Shareholder and Chair of the Construction Services Group, Michael Gentry, presented on Finding and Controlling the Direction of Cash Flow. Secretary Mike Gill (pictured with Founder Alvin Katz of KatzAbosch) of the Department of Business and Economic Development discussed the “State of the State” under the new Hogan administration in Maryland and fielded questions from the audience. The afternoon kicked off with a presentation from Tony Ivener of Ivener Management Strategies on Ownership Transition Strategies and Succession Planning. Buddy Potler, Principal with Offit Kurman, closed with an interactive and lively discussion on Mediation and Communication Skills.
