KatzAbosch is seeking a staff accountant. We are looking for someone who is striving to obtain the 150 hour requirement to complete the CPA exam or currently holds their CPA License. This position requires a basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles with a desire to further their career in the public accounting industry. This person will be tasked with completion of compilations, reviews and audits where applicable along with the completion of business and individual tax returns.

Description of Duties

Develop the ability to prepare cash and accrual accounting jobs from source data to the financial statements
Reconciliation of assigned accounts in a timely and accurate manner
Accurate preparation of year‐end journal entries
Become proficient with the Firm’s computer programs
Preform audit engagements
Produce business tax returns, including extensions
Prepare payroll returns and personal property returns, including extensions

Qualifications

Applicants must possess a BS degree in Accounting from an accredited University and currently seeking CPA License or currently holding a CPA. Must possess sharp analytical skills, strong communication skills including the ability to effectively present information and respond to clients needs. Ability to analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations. Must have the ability to communicate both verbally and written, be technically competent, self‐motivated and reliable to anticipate needs of clients, etc.
