The Shareholders of KatzAbosch congratulate Alvin Katz, CPA on being elected to the Board of Directors for The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools.

Alvin is a Co-Founder of KatzAbosch and has been with the Firm since its inception 45 years ago. From 1989 through 2009, Alvin Katz served as President and CEO of KatzAbosch. Since co-founding the firm in 1969 with John Abosch, he has been instrumental in the firm’s success and growth to become one of the top 200 accounting firms in the United States. He is now a Director in the firm. Alvin provides a full range of services for clients, including management advisory services, tax planning, general business advice and consulting, and mergers & acquisitions.

Alvin earned his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Baltimore and is a current member of the following associations: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Member and Virtual Grassroots Panel Member; Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), Member and Blue Ribbon Panel Member; The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools, Board Member; Kennedy Krieger Institute, Chair of the Planned Giving Advisory Council; Herbert Bearman Foundation, Advisory Board Member; The Gerson G. and Sandy F. Eisenberg Foundation, Inc., Public Director; The Harry Weinberg Family Foundation, Inc., Public Director; and The Center Club, Board of Trustees. He has received many awards including: Hometown Hero, American Red Cross of Central Maryland, 2010; 2004 Innovator of the Year, The Daily Record; Maryland’s Top 50 CPAs, Baltimore SmartCEO Magazine 2004; and Beth Israel Congregation’s “Man of the Year” 1985.

Alvin is pleased to be on the Board of Directors for The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools and feels the mission is tremendously important to the Maryland community. “I feel there is very little more important than education of everyone, particularly, our youngsters. I look at my own children and grandchildren and feel the education they’re receiving and continuing to receive is vital in their lives. It may sound like “apple pie and motherhood,” but a good education will go a long way in structuring one’s life,” says Katz.
