GOVERNMENT CONTRACTING SUPERVISOR

KatzAbosch is seeking a Supervisor to work in our government contracting group.  We are looking for someone to help our clients navigate the challenges of doing business with the government.  Our goal is to help our government contracting clients deal with strict rules and regulations that must be followed when working with the government, advising clients in regards to their accounting system, contract administration, and overhead rates to maximize revenue and mitigate risk.  The government contracting group is rapidly growing and we are looking for career minded individuals with experience in the government contracting field.

Descriptions of Duties:

  • Assist in performing assessments of internal controls and developing compliance programs, policies, and procedures
  • Provide knowledgeable financial and economic analyses to improve contract accounting
  • Implement process improvements for contract bidding and estimating systems
  • Assist in performing various duties in government contracts and grants, including indirect rates, allocation of indirect cost, changes in cost accounting practices, incurred cost submissions, pricing strategies and consulting
  • Provide interpretation, implementation and compliance of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) circulars
  • Assist clients with preparation and negotiation of equitable adjustment and termination claims
  • Assist in liaison between Administrative Contracting Officers (ACO), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and other oversight agencies.
  • Develop/maintain productive relationships with client management, manage expectations of service, stay informed of client’s industry, while recognizing key performance drivers, business trends, and emerging technical/industry developments
  • Supervises staff and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the firm’s policies
  • Preparation and review of compiled, reviewed and audited financial statements

 

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a BS degree in Accounting from an accredited University and working towards or currently holding a CPA, CFA, or a CFE license along with at least 4 years’ experience.  Must possess sharp analytical skills, strong communication skills including the ability to effectively present information and respond to clients needs. Experience with FAR, CAS and other federal government regulations. Previous experience in a professional services environment, working directly with governmental contracting clients, and the ability to develop detailed work plans, manage multiple projects, and lead team members.  Must have the ability to analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations.  Must have the ability to communicate both verbally and written, be technically competent, self-motivated and able to anticipate needs of clients, etc.  Caseware experience is a plus along with QuickBooks and or Deltek software.
